Please avoid putting garbage, trash, furniture, carpets, grills, broken machinery, branches, pallets, and similar items at your curbside for long periods of time while waiting for the town to dispose of them. Please take note of the following:

1. Pickup schedule
Trash and other debris should go out on Wednesdays for pickup on Thursdays. Please try not to put things out earlier.
2. Large items
If trash and debris items are larger than ordinary, call the Town of Amherst Highway Department, who will gladly pick up these items. Give them advance notice. Please store these things out of curb view until the pickup day arrives.
3. Town dump site
The Town of Amherst has a dumping area for metal, electronic, concrete, and brick items. You can take these items to 1042 North Forest, 14221 (716.631.7117) and drop them off personally.
4. Yard structures
Please keep yard sheds, playhouses, swing sets, and other structures in your backyard with minimal curb visibility.
5. Trash cans
Please store your garbage and trash cans out of sight from curb view.
